Objectives of 5S workplace

 
  • To sort necessary and unnecessary items to Change the mindset, improve the efficiency of employees, and make them more productive by facilitating continuous improvement.
  • To set in order all the necessary items in a designated place that is easily accessible and visible.
  • To make shine everything and develop the process of keeping it clean as a part of everyday work.
  • To standardize the workplace by creating consistency at a level that uncovers the problems.
  • To sustain and encourage the implemented 5s procedures on a daily basis through continuous assessment and action.

Policies for 5s Organization

 
  • 5s audit should be taken once a semester.
  • A member of the industry must participate in at least one of the past three 5S audit periods.
  • The auditors should have to rate the laboratories depending on laboratory conditions.
  • The audit report should be given to the laboratory in charge on the next day to do necessary changes in the laboratories.
  • Laboratory in-charges should do changes within 8 days after giving notice.
  • If the changes in the laboratory are major then the laboratory in-charge should report to respective HODs.
  • Feedback from students should be taken to check the impact of 5s workplace organization in laboratories.
