Objectives of 5S workplace
- To sort necessary and unnecessary items to Change the mindset, improve the efficiency of employees, and make them more productive by facilitating continuous improvement.
- To set in order all the necessary items in a designated place that is easily accessible and visible.
- To make shine everything and develop the process of keeping it clean as a part of everyday work.
- To standardize the workplace by creating consistency at a level that uncovers the problems.
- To sustain and encourage the implemented 5s procedures on a daily basis through continuous assessment and action.
Policies for 5s Organization
- 5s audit should be taken once a semester.
- A member of the industry must participate in at least one of the past three 5S audit periods.
- The auditors should have to rate the laboratories depending on laboratory conditions.
- The audit report should be given to the laboratory in charge on the next day to do necessary changes in the laboratories.
- Laboratory in-charges should do changes within 8 days after giving notice.
- If the changes in the laboratory are major then the laboratory in-charge should report to respective HODs.
- Feedback from students should be taken to check the impact of 5s workplace organization in laboratories.
